The M4 runs west out of London past Heathrow, Reading and Swindon, over the Prince of Wales Bridge and into South Wales as far as Pont Abraham. The smart-motorway section between J3 and J12 and the Brynglas Tunnels at Newport are its two best-known bottlenecks. Welsh-side incidents come from Traffic Wales; English-side from National Highways. Everything refreshes every 5 minutes.
